In its bravura and breadth, JFK is seditiously enthralling; in its craft, wondrously complex. I hope that this film can be the first step in righting that wrong.

Stone rebutted these claims in a letter to the magazine. Williams remembers, "I thought his handling of Lee Harvey Oswald was particularly strong, and I understood some of the atmosphere of the film — the sordid elements, the underside of New Orleans.

Stone gave him several plane tickets, a list of contacts, and told him to do his own research. With the possible exception of the lone gunman theory, every possibility of truth is explored, at least in dialogue.

Instead he composed and conducted six musical sequences in full for JFK before he saw the film in its entirety. I have researched online and in libraries to learn the truth of these events, and I would say that my outlook on those matters has changed substantially.

Everything about this film is perfect and it shows that when an intriguing story comes together with all other elements of filmmaking that are executed brilliantly, the film works on so many levels.

That was the idea of JFK — that was the essence of it: The shoot lasted 79 days with filming finished five months before the release date. We believe the whole damn thing because we see it through his logic. JFK is simply an excellent movie.

JFK runs the difficult task of presenting fact, fiction, conjecture and opinion, twisting them all to present the increasingly difficult to dispute conclusion that Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone and according to director Oliver Stone, did not act in the assassination of President Kennedy.

Edgar Hoover, and the Mafia. A marvelously paranoid thriller featuring a closetful of spies, moles, pro-commies and Cuban freedom-fighters, the whole thing might have been thought up by Robert Ludlum.

It shifts from black and white to color, and then back again, and views people from offbeat angles. As it was written it became more fascinating: An impressive and versatile cast is used superbly.
